How to throw the ultimate Safari Party

How to throw the ultimate Safari Party

If your little one has always dreamt of exploring jungles and seeing lions, tigers, and bears, why not throw them a safari themed birthday party!

If you aren’t sure where to start, don’t worry, we’ve created a complete guide to throwing the ultimate safari birthday party, so your little explorer has a day they’ll never forget.

Theme

It’s time to decide on your theme, maybe your little one has a favourite animal, safari-themed film or character that you want to base your party on, or maybe keeping Safari as your theme works perfectly.

Décor

Work out if you’d like to host an outdoor or indoor party and bring your vision to life. Creating a jungle atmosphere can become a fun and easy craft project for your family. Source some large pieces of paper in a variety of green shades and cut out large leaves that you can adorn your space with.

You can also purchase mini animal models from a local toy shop to place amongst party food to further create a jungle atmosphere!

Costume

Time to dress up!

Lions, tigers, and snakes, oh my! Your party guests will be super excited to dress up as their favourite animals. Get creative fashioning a lion, giraffe, or tiger costume for your little one out of materials you have at home or check out this easy explorer costume made with baking paper and cardboard rolls!

Wild Party Food

All this exploring works up an appetite! We’ve got the perfect party snacks to keep your explorers fed and happy.

Animal inspired Face Painting

Enlist the help of a professional face painter or do it yourself. Find a selection of designs that suit your skill level and let your party guests decide which safari animal they want to be transformed into.

Spot animals in the wild!

Depending on your budget and location, you can always hold your Jungle inspired birthday party at a local Wildlife centre, zoo, park or even a farm. With the help of some open space and sunshine, your party food becomes a picnic for explorers in the wild and your party guests can take expeditions to spot some exciting animals!

Play ‘Pin the Tail on the____’

Party games have always been a key part of any child’s birthday celebration, and today we’re suggesting you put your spin on the classic ‘Pin the Tail on the Donkey’. Why not swap the donkey theme for whichever animal is the birthday child’s favourite?
